FAMILY BREWING QUALITY CRAFT BEER
We are a family that loves craft beer! Our family has had the pleasure of brewery beer with each other over the past few years for fun. Dan Bass, his son Kenton, along with cousin Jesse Butcher, started brewing in their garage in 2009. As they brewed together, they realized how great the beer was and the idea formed to open a brewery. Once family and friends had sampled the brews, they encouraged the idea of opening up a family-run brewery - so the research and planning began!
In early 2015, a space in Pybus Public Market became available and opening up the Brew Pub became our main focus. Karen Bass was the creative force behind our brand and atmosphere - her eye for detail lead to our steampunk, industrial design within both of our locations. Connecting to the community and partnering with local and regional talent has always been one of our focuses, and we were excited to collaborate with local gunsmith Scott King and welders at Barnes Welding to produce this tap tower. Josh Barnes from Barnes Welding made this collaboration come to life and construction started in June 2015 to make our one-of-a-kind tap tower. Once our Brew Pub opened over Labor Day weekend that year, focus shifted back to finding a space to make our own WVBC beers.
In January 2016, that space was found. Over the next few months, we had our brewing equipment purchased and began the work on the Brewery. Keeping with our local focus - our brewery equipment came from Hayden, ID and as we began brewing, our hops and malts are from Washington state. Our family, friends, and staff were extremely excited for our brewing to kick off in December 2016. On January 16th 2017, our first beer was kegged and two days later, the keg was tapped and served at our Pub in Pybus! The Brewery is now open with both food and brews to enjoy.
Over the next few years, we look forward to growing with the community and are are excited to see what is in store for our little family grown idea!
